C.P. Huntington Train

Enchanted Island’s one-third replica C.P. Huntington Train was completed and installed in 1991 for the grand opening of the amusement park. It’s one of our most popular rides, offering guests a leisurely, seven-minute tour of the island.

The original C.P. Huntington tank-back steam engine played an important part in building the western segment of the first Trans-Continental Railroad. After serving faithfully for nearly 50 years, the “Little Iron Horse” was ordered demolished in 1914. Just as it was to be broken up, a hurried call from San Francisco ordered it rebuilt. It came out of the shop in time to be exhibited as Southern Pacific Railroad’s pioneer locomotive. It last operated under its own steam in 1939 and is now on display at the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento.

Encanto Carousel

Over the years, the Encanto Carousel has been the focal point of countless birthdays, reunions, and first dates - as well as the backdrop for many weddings.

The oldest continuously-operated carousel in Arizona has charmed riders for over 50 years, beginning in 1948 when the historic machine was the centerpiece of Kiddieland Amusement Park.

After Kiddieland closed in the late 1980s, a group of volunteers raised money to buy the carousel and completely refurbish it. It was re-dedicated in 1991 at the grand opening of Enchanted Island Amusement Park.

The Valley celebrated the carousel's 50th birthday in 1998, when it was donated to the City of Phoenix as a permanent fixture at Encanto Park.

Castle Clash is a fun and exciting attraction that allows participants to test their skills while battling friends or foe. Teams of one or two enter into their respective castle and defend their position with the aid of water guns. As targets randomly light on the opposing side, players can choose to collect value points (which spray the cannons) or distract their opponents by spraying them directly. Watch out, the winning side serves up a blast of water from their two water cannons at games end.
